Yes, they do. True story: When Goff Professional got their first batch
of Leslie 122A's from Hammond, with the single motor and speed control,
something sounded 'off' when the Leslie was in Chorale, and they
couldn't understand why: same amp, same speakers, etc. One day, Al
Goff looked up from his bench at a Leslie 122 and a 122A sitting side by
side across the room: the horns were spinning opposite! It turns out
that two motors have the same orientation in a 122A, rather than being
opposite like a 122. They swapped the motor leads on the horn, and
everything snapped back into place.
That said, this is just an add-on graphic, so I wouldn't get too hung up
on that detail -- does the sim sound right? (I think it sounds pretty
damn good!)
________
One thing I'd be interested in: I have a Halfmoon customer who is using
the IK Leslie/T-Racks Leslie plugin -- a separate VST that just provides
the Leslie sim -- with a real Hammond B-3, and we had a lot of trouble
getting it to talk to a 3-position Halfmoon. On some platforms, the VST
could be coaxed into working as a 3-way; in others as a 2-way only; and
occasionally, not at all. Craig, have you tried anything like that?
________
Another interesting thought: since this VSTi was created "in
cooperation with Hammond-Suzuki," is any of this technology going to
show up in H-S products soon? Their Leslie sims have been particularly
underwhelming, IMHO.
