Subject:Re: korg kronos for organ

The '80s CX-3 was 100% analog, using octave divider ICs and filters.  No
relation to the 2000's CX-3, other than the name.  A pretty good organ
in its own right, but nowhere near accurate by today's standards.  96
(vs. 91) oscillators, no foldback, cheesy vibrato, etc.  But it was a start!

________
Interesting aside:  In 1996, I went down to Caruso Music in CT to try
out, and probably buy, an '80s BX-3, the bigger brother.  When I got
there, we discovered that the BX-3 had all kinds of problems, mostly
caused by leaky electrolytic capacitors -- a notorious problem in '80s
keyboards after they became 10+ years old.

The organ was taken down to the repair shop in the basement for a 'quick
repair.'  After waiting almost two hours, I said, "OK, I just drove 125
miles to check out this organ.  It's clear that it's not getting fixed
today.  What else have you got?"

What they had was a Voce V3.  I bought it, which eventually led to the
Voce Support Group ... which morphed into the Clonewheel Support Group!
