I'll chime in as I owned a V3 and MSkp500. The V3 as described by other members has a place such as small rooms, rehearsals acoustic duo/trios etc. I have used it on such gigs as well large outdoor festivals, but only as my personal monitor at large shows where pro-sound was provided. Easy enough to give the sound men a mono line out to go FoH. My deciding factor to sell the V3 was when it came to a pound to pound comparison with the MS500; there was no comparison in my opinion. I generally need some horsepower with the bands I play in and the MS does the job very well. The MS can be mid range heavy, but it also has a better range of eq, again in my opinion, than the V3 does and I can dial in what I need for what I play. For stereo work the MS is great considering it is a one directional sound projecting amp,and although it is a little awkward to move due to it's shape, that is a small inconvenience; I replaced the hard wheels with a set of slightly larger wheels that go to a 5 wheeled office chair, clear vinyl type that make moving the MS500 really easy, sometimes too easy as it can get away form you and start to topple if you are not careful.  I use a 2.5' strap to walk that dog! The surround effect of the V3 is really good, I do miss that as I love what a real Leslie cab can do. My work around for that was I ended up building a custom amp cabinet that has a Leslie 22h amp, crossover, 15 woofer and an atlas driver. The cabinet is set up to sound out just about 360* as the back is mostly open top to bottom. This is about the best mono amp I have ever played through and I can drive it hard to get the overdrive breakup sound that certain songs call for; real overdrive from the 22h amp is very cool. The Vent 2 just finishes it off perfectly.  I play an sk-1 or Mojo dual organ mainly playing organ all night, with some piano, e-pianos from the sk-1 or via Korg module with the Mojo. Mostly play rock, soul, funk; occasionally some jazz and use a Vent 2 for the extra pop and realistic Leslie action that I like, and having a 3 speed Leslie choice is great, again my opinion. I no longer take my 145 out to gigs. As always, YMMV; a lot to consider; your sound that you're after, cost, schlep, size, do you want deep bass, small vs large venue, what instrument(s) will you be playing... just my thoughts.
