Subject:Re: Good Speakers for a Hammond XK-1C?

Any powered PA speaker is a good candidate, and the flatter, more even
the response the better.  JBL Eon or PRX, QSC K-series, Electro-Voice
ZLX, Mackie SRM, Yamaha DXR, Yorkville Elite or Unity, etc. are all good
candidates.  Stay away from the lower-end offerings, as a general rule.
I use an acoustic grand as my 'test case' -- if it sounds great with
piano, most digital organs will also do well.

If you are planning to use the keyboard only in rehearsal or recording,
a powered studio monitor might be a good choice.  I use a pair of
Prodipe 8" with a ribbon tweeter in the practice room (140W each).  By
themselves, they can't quite keep up with a whole band, but add a
powered sub and they do nicely, especially if placed nearby.  And for
evening rehearsals, they are more than fine.
