Norm,

Yes it has been pretty quiet lately.. but Hammond Suzuki is announcing something on Jan 25th (I think that’s the date).. they’ve been circulating some teaser videos about an SKx (likely the replacement for the SK series.. or perhaps an enhancement.. Some speculation that it’s the new XK-5 engine plus some new sounds.. We’ll see very soon.

Incidentally, I recall Scott May making some kind of similar pronouncement (in early January of 2017 if I recall correctly) about some big announcement, which never happened, and I suspect it was this SKx product. HS had a lot of problems with the early XK-‘s locking up, and getting stuck notes, I think they have taken some extra time to release a stable reliable product..

The big question will be what has changed.. dual drawbars? The new XK-5 keyboard? Newer, better extra voices? Will it replace the existing SK series or just add a new model to it.

I am really happy that you’re still enjoying the VR-09.. it is still awesome value.. nothing on the market touches it.. after 4+ years on the market!! I’ve been jamming with some new guys and I it’s a tossup between the Mojo 61 (which has that great VB3 engine and some really nice, but limited, extra sounds) or the VR-09 which is so light and versatile with it’s ability to split/layer, and very comprehensive set of sounds!!
