I've played the xk-5 and I'm not sure it would say it will blow the competition away! I think it's finally caught up to the competition! But that's just my opinion.
I think that if you put the new engine in a new SK (minus the new keyboard) and add extra sample memory and more/better extra voices it would sell well at the right price..

The XK-5 has had a number of early life issue, that I'm not absolutely sure are worked out even yet.. and some are quite serious like stuck notes, freezes during editing (every new update says "improved performance" but not definitively fixed stuck notes).
I would expect a new SK in the not too distant future, but I have no special insight.. I just know that Hammond Suzuki has a new clone engine and I think they're chomping at the bit to get it out there, at a lower price clone to compete with the Mojo's and KeyB's and Hoax based stuff, all of which is half the price of the XK-5. I think HS wants to stay in the game at two different price points.
Just my opinion of course.
