Thanks.   I found the schematics at the link in this thread, but it does not have anything on servicing or troubleshooting.
I set up my CX3 to start opening it up, but first was going to check the issues again.  Now the CX3 will no longer produce any audio.   All the controls work, the display works, signals are sent if I connect a MIDI device, but no sound on any of the three output jacks.   I see inside there are two main circuit boards, 2819 seems to be for panel, keyboard, and controls.   The other big one is 2816, which probably has all of the audio stuff.  The inside of the CX3 looks new, no dust, or corrosion, and I re-seated all connectors. Still no audio.
Given the age of this, I assume I now own a very nice midi controller.
