Subject:Re: B-5 nightmare
Well as a long time VB3 user, and now a VB3II user (via a Gemini), I went ahead and bought B-5 but I can't honestly remember why now (it probably seemed like a good idea at the time). I too had a few issues with it initially but that's mainly because I was stupidly trying to run it in a 32 bit environment - if I'm gonna ever use it seriously I'll have to invest in 64 bit Forte or 64 bit Cantabile so more expense there.
I can't say that any aspect of it was better than VB3II, but my main issue was that i could never get enough volume out of it. Recently my Gemini malfunctioned and had to go back to Italy for a warranty repair, so I decided to use B-5 live on stage for the first time. As soon as my first solo came round, the rest of the guys turned round to me mouthing 'can't hear you' and there was absolutely nothing iI could do about it. Nightmare.
