Subject:Re: Vent/Burn/Lester Demo
If you want to adapt a halfmoon, you may want to look at the Lester-G.
Beside the extra compression effect and a knob to allow you to adjust
acceleration, it has a jack for an expression pedal. An expression pedal
plugged into the jack will allow you to vary the speed (according to the
manual). When using the expression jack, the "speed" footswitch will
only act as a "break" control. Using a couple of resistors, you should
be able to build a cable from the halfmoon to plug into the expression
jack and get it to do what you want.
DISCLAIMER:
I don't own a Lester (at least not yet, they look interesting) and I can
only go by what is explained in the manual. One potential issue that may
exist is the speed transition. Since I don't have one to test, I'm not
sure how the unit will respond when switching quickly from one speed
setting to the next using the expression jack without using an actual
expression pedal. If interested, it may be worth an Email to the
Electro-Harmonix folks to ask how the expression jack responds.
One of the downsides is that the Lester-G costs ~$45 more, pushing it
towards Burn/Vent territory.
