Subject:Re: OT: Fatar keyboard action lubricant

That's what I was hoping to get an answer to! I guess I need to contact
Clavia (or Fatar, though even when purchasing from them they can be
difficult to get an answer from...).

The following picture is of a TP30 action with some keys removed, but the
basic construction is the same. The fingers I'm referring to are the bits
at the front of the keys underneath which are covered with a brown
rubber/plastic in the picture (on the TP40m in the Nord Stage I seem to
remember it being a lighter colour).

I'm pretty sure the key in question has this slightly bent (possibly from
palm slides / glissandos) but the tolerances are very tight there, and it's
clear the lubricant plays a major part in keeping the movement smooth. I
have little doubt that this is a lubricant and not attempting to slow the
movement down!

Perhaps a question for Keyboard Corner?

Thanks!

James
