Subject:Re: VR-760 Output hack

Great post Ben!

I have a VR760 in my studio which I use all the time thru a groove tubes sfx100. I use it mostly for organ and It sits on top of a Yamaha P250 piano so I don't miss not having separate output while using both keyboards. I also think of it as having a built in mixer as well as having dedicated effects for each section, and while not perfect it is designed well for an all in one type keyboard and very simple to set up. If it had separate outputs I know most of the time they would just be going to a mixer anyway, especially in a gigging situation.

Where do you send your separate outputs and how much of a difference can you hear?

I may try your idea to see how well it works. But I am wondering if it is possible to pan sounds left or right thru midi or so other way internally, how about just using the panned sounds (ie organ to left, piano or synth to right). I am sure it has been discussed somewhere before and there is a reason why it doesn't work for the VR760.

Thanks for the info! I will try it out soon as I can.

P.S.
Good to hear from another VR760 user. Still a great keyboard among all the latest and greatest clones coming out today. Many complain about the weight but I think it is just about perfect for organ, both semi weighted keys and overall weight of the VR760 itself. I think an organ (and piano) needs some weight to it so it can be played as real hammond (or grand piano). I think some of the newer keyboards sound great but don't play as well due to lighter keyboard action and lack of overall weight. They also seem too fragile to hold up to being used too much as a gigging or studio board.
