Norm,
If you have an IK account your Sonik Synth license should still be recorded in your IK account.
IIRC the current SampleTank 3 free player (64 bit) has recently been upgraded so it will now load older 32 bit IK products like Sonik Synth. If you ask IK they may allow you to download SS again without charge, they have reinstated the download function for me for ST2.5 and other ST products I own without charge in the past.
Use inside the current SS3 player and you are back in business.
Cheers
Mark

Hi Graham,
Regarding the 32 v 64 bit issue. The world is moving to 64 bit and some current mainstream VST developers are already releasing 64 bit only versions of their new VSTs (for example IK with Sampletank 3).
If you are looking for a robust rig for live performance, as you already have a 64 bit OS, now may be the time to break with the past and go 64 bit only.
Most developers have been releasing VST's as either 64 or 32 bit for some time. Therefore if the other VST's you are using are mainstream and current then you should be able to obtain a 64 bit version of them and use your existing licenses. Today any VST that remains 32 bit only is effectively a legacy VST.
You can get JBridge, which is recommended by Cantabile, which will allow you to continue running 32 bit VST's in a 64 bit host.
However the bridge itself takes up CPU and RAM and adds another layer of complexity to your setup and can create some unusual behavior when switching to a bridged VST, for example CPU spikes.
For that reason I no longer use bridged 32 bit VST's in my live rig. In the studio or at home where it doesn't matter if it momentarily glitches or spikes on loading, that is less of an issue.
64 bit OS's have been around since XP and most new machines sold with Win 10 are 64 bit.
New VST's are getting more CPU and RAM intensive and take advantage of the faster CPU's and greater amount of RAM typically installed on current mid spec and higher machines. So with older machines the fewer other running processes the better as far as glitch free performance is concerned.
Cheers

Thanks again mskremote
I didn't bother to delete iLOK (B-5 was the only VST) but otherwise I pretty much did what you suggested including running CC Cleaner on the registry. I had previously used Winrar to extract the B-5 UFS and did so again. I'm running a 64 bit OS with 4GB RAM and an HD (not SSD) and this time round I made sure I installed the 64 bit version of everything, including the 64 bit version of Cantabile Lite. I haven't got round to installing the 64 bit version of Forte 4 (trial version) yet though.
- The good news is that B-5 now runs in the 64 bit UVI Workstation VST in 64 bit Cantabile with low latency and I get plenty of volume.
- The not so good news is that although B-5 runs in 64 bit UVI Workstation standalone, the volume is very low and I don't see any way of saving anything, so it has to be set up each time it's used. This doesn't really matter to me though as I'm only interested in running B-5 as a VST, preferably in Forte but otherwise in Cantabile.
- The bad news is that I can''t run my 32 bit plugins in 64 bit Cantabile. So should I abandon 64 bit and download 32 bit versions of everything? (although I suspect I would be unable to run a 32 bit UVI Workstation on a 64 bit OS). Or should I bridge from 64 to 32 bit (although I haven't got much of a clue how to)
Appreciate your assistance mskremote - I'm getting there slowly.
Graham
