Yes shouldn't be an issue if B-5 is the only VST , but if you have others authorised it may be an issue if you run out of authorizations with other VST's.
Before taking that step I recall that AS recommend that only winrar be used.
Try downloading the far file again use winrar to extract it, and replace the UFS in UVI and check the file integrity inside UVI.
If this doesn't fix it then uninstalling UVI including authorisation manager, check all folders created during the previous install are deleted, run a registry cleaner like cc cleaner, reboot and reinstall seems to be the only option.
BTW B-5 being a hybrid sampled and modelled VST uses a reasonable amount of CPU, RAM and disk access. Certainly a VST that would benefit from a 64 bit OS with at least 8 gig of RAM and an SSD.
What are your machine specs?
