eMu audio/MIDI boards, including 0404, 1212, 1616, and 1820 (and the M variants). The Creative web site has drivers from about 2011, and also Vista drivers. They also released a set of beta Windows 7 drivers


I've stopped using the 0404's (don't need for my present stuff), sent the 1616M and computer to a non-profit, the 1212M is not in use, but have an 1820 and 1820M in use, one with Windows XP (not connected to outside world), and one running Windows 7.


I did have the 1212M working on WIndows 8.1. Attempts to update the Windows 7 DAW to Windows 10 resulted in SOME software modules working and others not working. Investigation by search engine turned up that some audio formats seemed to work and others not work. I'm not really sure why. To the best of my knowledge 8.1 can be made to work.


The file names for the 2011 drivers: EmuPMX_PCApp_L6_1_81_06.exe and EmuPMX_PCApp_L6_2_10_08.exe plus EmuPMX_PCDrv_L6_1_82_01.exe and EmuPMX_PCDrv_L6_2_10_08.exe. I don't know why there is a version 1 and version 2 driver in the bunch, but I use the version 2 ones. The PCDrv is the software driver to recognize the eMu, it detects which model is installed. the PCApp is the eMu Mixer GUI application.


My WIndows 7 DAW lost some functionality when I installed some added programs that came with a piece of hardware. I'm over spending hours finding out exactly why ASIO on Windows starts and stops - just plain tired of dealing with the issues. So, I use what works, and have moved on for current stuff. I never did have any actual DAW software except the LE versions of Sonar and Cubase, although I have Finale and Sibelius on the machine.


Most of my future effort will be on my Macbook Pro feeding a Focusrite 18i8. OS X is a sight less aggravating to keep everything running with audio apps. I'm also using Korg Module and other apps on the iPad platform. Stuff just works.

It came with B3 soundfonts.
