You know, I've wondered about that for years... In 2016 we're so used to
pipe organs, tonewheel organs, and all kinds of electronic and digital
organs, because we've heard/played them all our lives (well, a lot of years
for digital organs for us older guys). But I wonder about back in the mid
1930's. There was no frame of reference. The Hammond Organ was brand new
and very few people had heard it. Electronic organs were still a few years
away, digital organs were a few decades away. I wonder if hearing the
Hammond Organ for the very first time would have sounded like a pipe organ
because there was nothing else in anyone's experience it could have sounded
like...
