Subject:How to replace belt on Motion Sound Low pro?

I just received the replacement belt for my Low Pro rotary cabinet. However, after opening up the cabinet I see that the drum has its shaft (axle?) attached both to the top and bottom of the compartment, so I don't know how to get the belt around the shaft to sit on the drum's race (correct word?)/groove. I think that I would have to dismantle one end of the drum's shaft from its bearing, yet before I start taking things apart and making a mess, maybe one of you have already been there and can tell me what to do?
