David,

Please don't misunderstand: I'm not defending Hammond-Suzuki here. Now
that I'm not the moderator, I can be very public that I *am* something
of a Hamm-Suz hater: I think often they make less-than-stellar products
and attempt to cover by being the only way to legitimately allow the
singer to announce, "Bobby Jones on the Hammond Organ!" I've never
owned a Suzuki-driven Hammond or Leslie product, and they might be able
to write that in my eulogy.

My attempt was to say that early adopters are like pioneers. And
pioneers usually get a few bullets and arrows in them. If a player
likes to make his/her friends jealous buy having the latest and greatest
products in hand, then there will likely be some trivial -- and NOT so
trivial -- issues to deal with. I found a couple of surprising ones on
my CX-3 (with lipped keys), even though I waited nine months before
taking the plunge. By the time the v2 CX-3 came out, we owners had
flushed out the problems, and the new owners were happy.

I used to fight with the sales side about releasing 'trivial' PC bugs,
too: they aren't trivial when they happen regularly to a customer. But
product teams often rationalize that a certain flaw "won't happen to the
average customer," or, "requires a certain touch to duplicate."
(Sometimes, a touch that 2/3 of the owners seem to have.)

Regards,

-BW
