Having worked for 10+ years in another consumer-oriented high-tech
product (laptop/desktop computers), I can assure you that a) Sales and
Marketing are always asking for new products to be released ASAP; and b)
it takes more time to shake out the design than management is going to
be willing to wait. So, decisions will be made about 'important' and
'trivial' bugs, and estimates about whether software problems can be
fixed before customers receive the product will generally be overly
optimistic. It can only be worse in a niche market like clonewheels,
where test time and money is limited.

Eventually, though, the really big problems usually get solved and the
owners who waited a bit are happy. This will probably be true of the
XK-5, too.
