Subject:Re: XK-5 warnings...!

I was thinking the same thing... I remember a couple of years ago when
Fender came out with their silverface '68 vintage modified amps - I ordered
a Deluxe Reverb right off and I went through about 4 or 5 of them -
everything was wrong with them - stains on the tolex, huge background
noise, amps dying mid-song... I went back maybe a year later and tried the
'68 Vibrolux Reverb - it was perfect - best amp I ever had - still have
it! I know that organ building is different than in the old days - you
don't have electrical engineers with soldering irons hunched over circuit
boards, you have computer guys hunched over laptops writing code - I'm
pretty sure they'll clear up all this stuff eventually... And, you're
right I talked to one dealer who said that the Hammond rep mentioned Crumar
by name as the company everyone was going to forget once the XK5 came out!
