yes it's a merry go round with volume. it's all over the place.

commercials are set loud so you can hear it clear into the next room when you get up to get a snack or hit the head.

basically need an expander/limiter/gate over the t.v.'s sound amp.
there is no volume standard for anything.
i think they mix the shows low so you turn them up so when the commercials come on, bang!
a remote is the only way.
