I just made a passive ABY box for my son. It was a fun project and cost less than any ready-made ones I could find. The main hassle was drilling four 12mm holes in a tough ABS case using a hand drill!

For my homebrew half-moon switch, I used a large plastic pill bottle and a Telecaster replacement switch – a fair bit of time building this and working out the correct connections, so if I was being paid for my time, it would be more expensive… yet I like these DIY challenges.
