what does chinese and russian hackers have to do with your opinion of the windows agenda?  the TPP the government is passing involves implementing chinese created internet censorship, worldwide, your view of the way things are would change dramatically as regards software that runs your computer, should you be so astute.

windows 10 is already the invasive software and will latch on to your pc and update the pc without you asking it. or it will give your wifi password to just anyone.

and after you've installed it on your pc you cant uninstall it.

it's not only music software that is being affected, it's video editing, scanner, and a whole slew of unrelated softwares.

ask hollywood effects expert mike rivero who worked on a myriad of movies like Star Trek, The Day After Tomorrow, how he likes his windows after XP? he buys an upgrade video editing software because XP was likely being hacked by windows to force him to upgrade, and he couldn't install his new software on 7 even if the designer said their software would work in 7. he was left without.
ever notice that even if you turn off the updates on your pc prompt you still get prompts for updates?  if you're in 7, 10 starts creeping onto you pc?

mac has always been, at least started out to be, the most stable as regards music software. but these days with jobs gone who knows?
the maxim with music computers is not to get on the upgrade carousel at the drop because you open yourself to all manner of extension problems. once you have something stable, best to get on with the business of making music rather than having the latest "trendy" upgrade.

i've noticed that some on this list seem to be more concerned about having the newest upgrade rather than getting down to creating and publishing music.

i had similar experience buying an upgrade for Spectrafoo to work with Protools HD in MacX. i talked with the developer on the phone and he promised me that the new version of Foo would work inside Protools and appear as a plugin like it did within Native. the developer said they were close to getting it done. for $400 to the upgrade already possessing the first in Native which did appear as a plugin within MOTU and in OS9, when i installed it onto Protools HD, in Mac OS10, Foo was not able to appear within Protools. it ended up being an external software to where you could only sample a short segment of the tracks at a time, not as it was in Native where it was in real time AND a plugin.

so if you wanted to check the phase, Lissajous phase scopes (X-Y, vectorscope and stereo field display modes) or use Phase Torch frequency-sensitive phase meters on the entire track you would have to do it in snippets.

i asked the developer, what gives, he ended up lying not expecting that i would remember his low pitched voice from our numerous phone conversations, and that i had quizzed him properly before buying the upgrade. the thing is they thought they would be able to fix their Foo but on the new Mac X (this is some years ago) and in PTHD they ran into a wall. so rather than do what they promised, they hid and ran away.

so here you are asking for help when the people who designed your software have bailed on you and just because someone gives you insight that you are not qualified to hear, you thumb your pre-cut nose to spite your face ?
get a clue dude. gates had nothing to do with windows' development. he was set up to appear like a genius. he's just carrying on his father's genocide program when he was head of Planned Parenthood hiding behind "his" billions. if you can wrap your lentil around that, then we can have a discussion!
if our software could run on linux or GNU then we might have a saner world.
again windows is not here for you, man, it's there for "them."
