Subject:VR-09 - expression pedal
I've got a gig this weekend and I think I might use just the VR-09 alone, and for a couple tunes I want to be able to fade in a layered "Lower" sound (as well as for use while just playing organ sounds). So I just purchased, via Amazon, the Yamaha FC-7, and two Hosa cables (YPP-117 and YPP-136) to switch the polarity. I will let the group know how that setup works. Total cost was $53.40 - way less than the Roland EV-5 or EV-7, and I've used the FC-7 before - it seems like a pretty solid pedal with good range.
[OT: The band has a very nice Yamaha MX08 that I could use for the piano stuff, but I'm spoiled on the portability of the Roland, simplicity of set-up, etc. I have charts I'm using (this is a fill-in-for-absent-keyboardist gig), so stacking the keyboards makes for a pretty high rig, including the music stand. If I brought the Yamaha, I don't think I would MIDI it to the Roland - I would just use it to do piano parts (there are a handful of tunes where it would be nice to have the MX08 keyboard).]
