Some organists used this supposed shortcoming to "cheat" a fifth drawbar setting, by leaving the 9th drawbar pulled out all the way & toggling it with the perc. tab. Richard "Groove" Holmes was a great example. In his famous recording of Misty he uses perc. on the verses but toggles it off on the bridge. I've actually been quite perturbed in the past with clones that wouldn't do this.
