It all depends on whether you play clean or not. If you like a bit of dirt, I'd say definitely use the vent. If you play clean the sim in the SK is pretty darned good, a lot better than the one in the electro 4d to my ears. I haven't tried the electro 5 yet. I would definitely take an SK2 without a vent over the NE2 with a vent, even without the dirt, but that's my ear. I would recommend listening to some of Jim Alfredson's demo's, especially one called Funk Fo' Ya on youtube. That's the internal sim. I also got another guy's tweaked leslie off him in a setup file that I like a lot for those few times I've played clean. But dirty, vent all the way!
