So Norman,
You could have the best of both worlds (tube/solid state) with a Kong SV1, as well as a great real hammer action...and probably, on the used market, at about the same price as VR 09...but without all the added synth and rompers functionality...and nowhere near the clonewheel capabilities ... but it has that tube...and did great pianos and feel. You can even half-pedal!
