i'm curious as to the tone of the solid wood valhalla leslie cabs vs. the original block-ply laminate leslie factory units. i imagine there is a change in sonics. if so, what attenuated or became pronounced?

The stand is not heavy (my opinion) as it is made of a fairly light weight plywood and it's very well engineered. It comes apart in 3 pieces which makes it very easy to carry.
 It's $499 and some might think that's expensive but I don't. I think it's very good value.. A well designed piece and very well crafted and worth every penny.
