Heavy and expensive are both relative terms...

The stand is not heavy (my opinion) as it is made of a fairly light weight plywood and it's very well engineered. It comes apart in 3 pieces which makes it very easy to carry.

It's $499 and some might think that's expensive but I don't. I think it's very good value.. A well designed piece and very well crafted and worth every penny.
