Subject:Re: OT---KEITH EMERSON

In '68-'69 i was a disciple of "the Nice". I thought Keith was a God of Hammond. I wore3 their albums out. I had bought my first B3 and 2 smoke stack Leslies in 1967 and when I heard "America", I practiced it until I could play it in my sleep. excluding the masters such as Chopin, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff and my very #1, Oscar Peterson, Keith is followed by Rod Argent, Jon Lord, Alan Price etc.

IMHO he is also the greatest showman. Just an animal on stage.

Keith Emerson is to rock as Jimmy Smith and Dave Brubeck are to jazz on the Hammond organ and the piano respectively. Tarkus had a big influence on my playing and is still one of my favourite albums. Keith is the Man.
