Subject:Roland VK-1 - Hammond on separate output?

Writing this for a friend, he's not very technical, so I'm trying to help him sort this out…

He recently bought an old Roland VK-1 and he says the non-Hammond sounds work fine, but he can only get Hammond on the headphone output for some reason.

I was wondering what could be the problem? My only guess is that the instrument could be stuck in a modality that sends the Hammond to a separate output so you can hook up a Leslie without affecting the other sounds, but no idea on how to disable this.

Any suggestion?
