There are a number of VR-09 limitations that really annoy me (and others). This problem with the effects when layering, the structure of the synth data file overwriting itself when saving multiple registrations based on the same synth program, and the inability of the VR-09's registrations to respond to program changes.. Along with a few other quirks.

With a few more updates fixing these issues, the VR-09 could be "awesome"! As it stands it's just "great"!

There's not much you can do about these things unfortunately, and I wouldn't expect any more updates from Roland to resolve these issues.

When you get annoyed just pull out the bill of sale and think about all it does do for the price you paid!
