Subject:VR-09 frustration - Organ LAYER with Piano

I've posted several experiences and opinions about the VR-09 and it has served my purposes well...until this past week. I had the occasion to do the accompaniment to "Precious Lord Take My Hand," an old gospel tune. The singer and I thought piano alone was enough, but thought that for the second verse I could add some layered organ. I ended up using the church's keyboard to do this (Jupiter 50) rather than my VR-09 because there was no way to layer the organ with the piano unless both sounds went through the Leslie effect (making the piano sound like it's from another planet). I could have just used dry organ, but ramping up the speed on the Leslie is part of what makes it sound gospel-y.

Am I missing something? I tried swapping Upper/Lower assignments, but that didn't seem to make a difference (unless I am just remembering wrong). I tried a SPLIT, which does indeed allow what I wanted, with Piano on the Lower, and Organ on Upper, but I couldn't get the piano part to sound how I wanted (I was doing stride like stuff with the left hand, which made the piano lose the feel we were going for). I wanted to do a LAYER.

So I've finally found a pretty big limitation with the VR-09 that my Casio WK-7500 could do just fine - layer in a Leslie organ with a piano properly. Granted with what I usually play I seldom run into this situation, but since it came up I thought I'd post in case I'm missing something Important.
