It's basically some new sounds.. 10 new EP's, and a 15 new synth sounds..

The new EP's are very good and the VR-09 now has a better cross-section of EP sounds.. the new synth sounds are kind of meh.. I don't really have much use for them myself. This update is a bit of a disappointment as far as I am concerned, I would have much preferred they spend the time fixing some of the quirks rather than adding sounds, although some will really like the EP's!

A couple things to note.. the instructions don't seem to be quite accurate.. first it suggests that hold down two buttons when you turn the power on to initiate the update, and you would see the words "updating..." but in my case the update did not begin until I actually let go of the two buttons after powering the VR-09 on, and the message I received was..

so don't be surprised if things don't appear to go exactly as described in the procedure..

The updater overwrote the first 50 registrations with the factory registrations. SO, backup your personalized registrations before you do the update.. you will likely have to reload them.

Last but not least the update took about 30 minutes..
