I don't understand why the Burn would be more suited to a synth player than
a clonewheel player. Unless it makes synth noises or something I'm not
aware of?
If I owned a Leslie sim with MIDI inputs and was playing a clonewheel, I
would program the sim to respond to program changes, so that I could, say,
select a Steppenwolf Organ patch and get a nice, sizzly hot close-mic'd
Leslie, then I could select say, a Pink Floyd Organ patch and get a Leslie
that was miked from farther away with a really slow ramp-up for the top
rotor.
When I play covers now, I can't re-mike the Leslie between tunes, so I'm
stuck with one setting. But if I was trying to play covers just like the
album, no expense spares, I would definitely select a sim which could
change characteristics based on MIDI program changes if the option was
there. Hopefully the Vent II Rack will allow this.
