Subject:Re: What we all really want in our homes--a gigantic pipe organ!
I have a Stage 2 Compact and a VR-09 that I picked up to backup my Nord. I would like to comment on a couple points for those considering a VR-09.
I'm in a Fleetwood Mac tribute band and need a lot of different setups. When going through the process of setting up the VR-09 as backup I discovered a characteristic of the Roland that folks may want to know about.
Although you can split the VR keyboard, if you put the organ on the left, the rotary effect is applied to the right split too. That means that you'll get the leslie effect on a piano/synth if you have it split to the right. Note that you can set up the organ on the right and not get the leslie effect on the left. - That's the work around. But, for me where I've usually got organ on the left side split on the Nord, it causes me issues in configuring the Roland VR. This info is in the manual but I didn't notice before purchase. Otherwise it's great for the price.
