i sort of have the same feeling that those that want to stick out in clone tone choose other engines and i can see that.
i know when i chose the 8m, i had also looked at the V combo but for some reason the organ sounded different to my ears. coming from, the original CX3 i was looking for a module for studio use and as it turned out the 8m had what i needed. this was 2003 and much has changed since then as far as new products.
if you have an organ trio you may need something with a little more "here i am" tone, not just play pads and beds.
a cover player needs many sounds. today it should come in a small footprint.

Again, the VR-09 is a very capable keyboard at a great price.. it's certainly not the top of the heap in terms of authentic sound or feel, but it's really very good..

roland clone engine is a dark horse.
although an older version of them, looks like the keys player is using a VK8M hence roland may be his clone engine of choice. sounds like a sim.
