I have Bruce's double foot switch and love the thing. It also allows the vent to be where you can get to the overdrive contol in a hurry if you need to. But one thing to consider is which would you rather wear out, the foot switch in the vent, or one on a little 30 dollar box? (I think the switch bruce sells was about that, been a while?
