Subject:KeyB and Mojo

Hi everybody


I just bought a Mojo and can't seem to get it to sound like I want it to. I also have a Numa Organ and like it a lot except for the fact that it has limited control of features. I think the Mojo is a great idea and maybe with some help I can get it to sound acceptable. Here are my complaints/concerns:
Leslie sim has a high frequency component that sounds as if there is a "straight" cabinet mixed in with the sound It has great adjustment capabilities though. Hoping to not be forced to buy a box such as vent. The whole idea for me is easy setup. Its hard enough dragging in all the parts/stands etc.
When leslie is engaged in brake, the virtual horn stops occasionally in a "dead " area possibly facing backwards - its real muddy sounding and very pronounced - too much so - not like a real leslie or for that matter my Numa which does the same. I realize you can run the leslie quickly to change position but who wants to have to deal with that while you are trying to do a good solo. Ill hold my breath and say it: the Numa has a very acceptable , realistic leslie sim
Probably have some more tweaking to do but a lot of the generator sets are harsh sounding, (particularly the 70s vintage which is somewhat true to Hammond) the top end seems to have transients or notes that stand out Going to a mellower generator set kind of takes some of the body out of the tone Can't seem to find an acceptable middle ground.


Should I not get this instrument sounding to my test , my next stop could be KeyB Has anyone purchased one lately? I know about the blow up with DMI but the Live model seems to be available Online. A sound engine like the NUma with adjust ability seems ideal to me at this point.


I have played the Hammond products - just got rid of an XK3-C which was very disappointing (chorus/vibrato, Leslie sim, weight,, price etc) Have briefly tried the new stuff at the Namm show it seemed OK but I am skeptical of Hammond at this point.
