I've always been happy with my VK8m leslie sim and the unit is very versitile and easy to use and tweak for my needs. My VK77 on the other hand doesn't have as nice of a fast leslie sim speed but it can be easily plugged into a real 11 pin Leslie or other leslie sim module. I do use some of the other sounds of the VK77 and also use it as a controller for some software.
