I too have been using Galileo on my Ipad 3 which is connected to my controller via the lightning camera connection kit which is a much more secure connection than the previous IPads had. It sounds awesome through my Ventilator and I have had no issues with it. If this Ipad did not belong to the school I work for, I would not hesitate to gig with it. I agree that it also sounds decent on its own except for the fast Leslie which I will try slowing down.
I do gig with a netbook. No issues there except the USB cable popping out. I designed a clip brace to hold it secure.  Whoever it was with issues with their laptop going into sleep mode, you can shut that off in your Settings menu. I also shut off the automatic software updater which will also reboot your laptop when you least expect it!
