OK. I reformatted 2 USB drives and left one blank, and set one up for the 1.03 upgrade. I put the 2 VR09s right next to each other.

I did a factory reset on the studio VR, and then redid the 1.03 upgrade. Then I reprogrammed manually the studio VR based on the sounds on my gigging board (which showed the proper patches in each registration, but didn't sound right). I only use 20 or so patches at gigs, so it wasn't too big a deal. Plus I got faster as I went along.


I saved that custom registration to the 2nd formatted USB drive and loaded that into my gigging VR09 after doing a factory reset on that board. So now both boards have my gigging sounds and they are able to save sounds and have them sound correctly each time. I noticed that the registrations that didn't sound "correctly" were all synth sounds or on the synth side of the VR09. I'm lucky that I have 2 of these beasts or it would have taken forever to get the sounds back.


I'm still not sure why this all happened. I'm very hesitant to install the copy band registrations, but I'm thinking that since my sounds were all done on 1.03, that I should be OK. And I will use a separate USB stick for just that.
