Korg issued an OS update but Nord was really the first one who offered new SOUNDS for machines. 
IIRC, the Cx3 Update (1-2) came just before they installed waterfall keys on the V2 (the initial rollouts didn't have waterfall).

  Didn't  Korg's digital CX3 update from version 1 to 2 happened around the same time, or maybe before, Nord released the first Electro (or any Electro update for that matter)?   The other thing I would add, is that even the much despised/admired VR-09 is on it's 3rd release of software, with bug fixes and new sounds and features.  Yamaha are you listening??  Dumb question, why would they listen to a drawbar organ forum... they're not interested..  Regards,

  Thank you Nord for being the first kids on the block to continually upgrade and update the instruments for consumers at no price.  Korg's effort is a nice addition.  Roland has been doing this for a while as well with the FA series.

  Actually I wish Yamaha would come out with something new.. ANYTHING...!!  There has really been nothing of significance added to their premier Motif workstation for years (a few new sounds and different models of the same old samples), unless of course you consider the new "white" model significant (that's a joke).  I really admire Korg for continually innovating (and of course their decision to include a drawbar organ engine in their workstation). Same with Crumar.. both the instruments I have in my gig rig (Kronos/Mojo) are continually being updated, and I am thankful for that because every couple of months I am surprised by one or the other with updated sound engines or new features.  The Motif sounds great, but really, let's see something new Yamaha..  Regards,

KRONOS System Version 3.0.2

KRONOS software version 3.0 is a major upgrade featuring:

- larger on-screen fonts

- 12 vintage effects,
- a raft of improvements to Set Lists,
- a new Find feature for locating Programs and Combinations by name,
- audio level meters for Oscillators, Timbres, Tracks, and effects,
- improved support for non- equal-tempered scales,
- support for editing text via USB alphanumeric keyboards, and
- if a sound requires samples which aren’t currently loaded, you can now loadthose samples in a single step.

KApro EXs19 KApro’s Private Collection for the KORG KRONOS offers a stunningset of sounds:
