Subject:Re: What Windows Operating System to run Clonewheel Software?
Here are the major differences between 8.1 and 8.1Pro
http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1877096/difference-windows-windows-pro.html
I am not sure about this as I have a single intel 2600k system and I never ventured into multi-socket systems, but I think I read somewhere that 8.1 supports 1 physical processor (and then however many cores the physical processor has), while 8.1 pro supports 2 physical processors.
I have been using 8.1 pro for the past couple of months live with a MOTU ultralite (with ASIO drivers) and no major problems other than some initial tuning of the system.
(I use komplete, VB3, omnisphere, Z3ta+ 2 and a few free other VST and VSTi and no issues with cantabilre and SonarX3 as hosts)
