YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!

I forgot about Extended Mode!!! It's interesting that you mention this, because it illustrates how much of a rut I'm in... by that I mean that I am myopically focused on RECREATING sounds/tones/performances rather than CREATING something new!!

If you had given me the CX3 engine when I young, I probably would have spend hours exploring the Ex mode (as I did with my Mini-Moog and many other vintage instruments) and I would have come up with all kinds of unique and creative sounds.. but here I am, 59 years old, I have a CX3 with extended mode at my disposal and I haven't even tried it. That's kind of sad (hmmm maybe I need to change my focus)..

So for the record.. not only is the updated CX3 engine surrounded by the fantastic Kronos machine, but it also has EX mode (and EX mode is also surrounded by the fantastic Kronos machine)..

That said, I need to start looking at my instruments from the perspective of "what new sounds can I make" rather than "how do I create a perfect copy of something" that already exists, and get out of this rut. ;-)
