Guido (GSi) here. It's been a long time since my last post on this list, and I jump in from time to time to see if there's something new but apparently this list runs faster than me, so I only happen to read the latest messages :)
And this time the latest message caught my attention. I hope my replies will be useful to other people also interested to know why we made such choices while designing the Burn.

The muting when you turn the overdrive on and off is there in order to avoid a possible "bump" that you would hear, and believe me, that would have been way more annoying than a 200 mS muting. Unfortunately there was no way to avoid that bump, it's the price to pay for having a real tube distortion inside a digital circuit. When the DSP is suddenly coupled with the hot signal coming from the tube, that bump occours despite the filterings we have put into the circuit.

again, WHY on earth did they decide to make this unit incompatible with
the half-moon and foot switches they already manufacture for Mojo?
Makes absolutely zero sense to me.
It makes absolutely sense, instead, and I remember I already explained this to you before. The "Remote" jack behind the BURN is made to accomodate a variety of accessories, i.e. switches, pushbuttons and expression pedals. For this reason it has the same connection as an expression pedal input rather than a footswitch input. The MOJO half-moon is not compatible for this reason.
However, rewiring an existing switch is very easy, and in some cases it is possible to build an external adapter that reverses two wires instead of rewiring the accessory internally. For example, the Hammond CU-1 and the Nord H/M Switch can be made compatible by simply swapping the sleeve with the ring of the TRS jack. The manual explains all this in detail.
Hope this helps.
Guido.
