Most people pick a speaker for how it sounds with the equipment they using. Some very interesting results can occur. To really test the equipment a speaker with excellent transient response and accuracy is needed, very few in the musical instrument/sound reinforcement exist. That is why so many different combos exist, to play the quirks/strengths to a particular combination. Myself, I use accurate speakers to evaluate the equipment, but then again I don’t have to carry them to gigs. Although I used to!

Speaker quality is obviously in the ear of the beholder... I really dislike the QSCs and have the new EVs. (Which I really like).. I also know that Craig and many others love the QSCs. Like A-holes, we all have opinions. None of us are correct or wrong.
So I would definitely audition speakers before you make a decision.
