I love my Ventilator and I'm sticking with it!

Speaker quality is obviously in the ear of the beholder...  I really dislike the QSCs and have the new EVs. (Which I really like)..  I also know that Craig and many others love the QSCs. Like A-holes, we all have opinions.  None of us are correct or wrong.

So I would definitely audition speakers before you make a decision.

>Hmm where do I start on this one.. I think that there are limitations with respect to how accuratey you can reproduce a tube based instrument like the Hammond/Leslie combination using software and digital signal processor chips. The big challenges are warmth, overdrive and the case of a leslie sim the sense of motion. I purchased my Ventilator because I thought it had the best sense of motion that I had ever heard in a leslie sim, and I purchased my Mojo because it was the warmest and most authentic sounding Hammond Clone I had ever heard.  After using the Ventilator I also discovered that it had the most authentic sounding overdrive, and the Mojo rivals it, but if I had to choose one or the other I  think I would give the edge to the Vent as the top leslie sim at this time, but just by a hair.

>I expect that Crumar/GSI's creation of the Burn leslie sim, which incorporates a REAL tube, is intended to take their leslie sim to the net step, surpassing the Ventilator, making it a notch better than what can be created using only software and a DSP chip, by adding real tube overdrive.  Could they improve on the Mojo sim without introducing a real tube, perhaps, but with the Burn they have created a whole new kind of leslie pedal, one that can not only provide a great leslie sim, but also provide other effects as well as a wide range of effects AND superior sounding overdrive and amp sims.  From what I have heard in various demos, the Burn unit can nail the Jon Lord/Deep Purple sound, almost perfectly (or closer than I have ever seen any clone come).  I want that sound for my 11STEPS band when we cover the Deep Purple songs.. and I've never quite gotten there with any of my clones.

>I have absolutely no knowledge of what Guido and Andrea have planned for the Mojo, but all indications are that they have a master plan, and I fully expect that the next version of the Mojo will have the Burn and a tube built right in, or an option to include the Burn. These guys are pretty smart, and I think that their master plan ends with the Mojo and the Burn as separate units.  I think the have their own sound card now, they've incorporated an LED display in the Burn (the Mojo is lacking a display for editing parameters and and I expect you'll see this display, or something like it, in the next Mojo as well). I think they have a well thought out long term plan.

>With respect to amplification issues.. For my purposes the QSC K10's are great.. lots of volume, lot's of balls, and with them I get exactly the sound I want/need (which is primarily rock B3 sound.. ala Greg Rolie from Santana).  Manuel, none of us have your ears, so I'm not sure that we can provide any advice to you, except to tell you what works for us.  Maybe, Andrea and Guido have a certain set of speakers that they feel provide the most accurate and authentic Hammond/leslie sound and perhaps you should contact them and ask them that simply question.. "what amp/speakers do you recommend for the sound you want to achieve"..

I think that would be the next big thing . figured i'd throw that out there .

>You should ask Mr. Guido and Mr. Andrea for introduce some features of the "Burn" unit into the Mojo! That is the right way! Or you may ask the Crumar team to indicate the right speakers for connecting the Mojo! That is the problem of the Mojo owners. We may connect any kind of amp / PA, etc., but is very dificult to get 100% of the Mojo sound. I already tested dozen of amps and I didn't find the right speakers yet. The true sound of that great machine is very dificult to reproduce!

Your comments made me think of something else: assuming that the Leslie simulation in the Mojo delivers 90% of that of the Burn, then Guido & Andrea probably have considered that Mojo owners won't buy the Burn--their potential customers are owners of Hammonds, Nords, Rolands, i.e., the same potential customers as for the Ventilator.

Why do you think there has been no development on the VB3 for years and probably never will be? If it is better than what Mojo owners have now they will buy the Burn, if it is already built in they will not. No one is going to update a $49 VST with the same software they already sell in the Mojo (its already pretty close) because it would impact sales of the Mojo. To do otherwise would not be good business.
