There are a lot of great rock organ players, that don't get anywhere near the recognition that they should.. I bought that Killer B3 CD that's all about the history of the Hammond organ, and there's almost nothing about any of the great classic rock players.. No mention of Kieth Emerson, no Rick Wakeman, no Gregg Rolie, etc. etc..

These are the guys that got me interested in the organ..!!! It wasn't Jimmy Smith or any of those other jazz guys!!  I don't even really like jazz organ (obviously I appreciate the talent, and I'll steal any jazz lick that I can figure out).

From my perspective it's the rock guys that made the Hammond organ famous!!!  (for the record I include Booker T as a rock guy albeit kind of on the edge of rock and roll, over to the left with surf rock)

I really wonder how the split is here on the group.. perhaps we should set up a survey to ask our members what style of music they would align themselves with...  maybe I'll see if I can figure if I can run a survey somehow..  Maybe our previous moderator can help me with this!?!?

Regards,
Craig MacDonald

The bottom board is a Kawai MP8 Stage Piano not sure if it's the original or
II version.??? Sounds pretty good though. This is odd because he typically
plays a Kurzweil PC-88/PC2.???
