Subject:RE: [OT] Expander?

At the risk of attracting ridicule, given the price range (evidently as cheaply as possible), an old Roland Sound Canvas could probably do the job for most situations, and could likely be picked up for a song. True, it's 16 bit rompler technology, but it is unlikely anyone in a live-performance venue could tell the difference between 24 bit and 16 bit or even between 32 bit and 12 bit. The things are also pretty much bullet-proof!

Hello all,

A bit OT, but not completely…

I'm thinking of some expander, something to connect via midi to my Mojo to get some Piano, EP and perhaps synth sounds from the lower manual, possibly with some hammond layer as well. Nothing fancy, just enough to survive the regular "coverband" situation. Of course it should work well with the Mojo and I really can't spend much (if it's 100 euros or less I'll go for it right now, otherwise I'll have to consider things very carefully). Any suggestion? I might consider as well buying an old netbook and converting it to some kind of expander (has pros and cons) but perhaps there's already something better around.
