Subject:Re: Burn vs122 leslie, HS leslie update, Vent2 features which is the simulation?

I've been wrong before, so I hate to guess on these things too. The last sim shootout here between the vent and burn I guessed completely wrong, I thought oh know, I know this is the burn and I like it more than the vent, now I have to buy another toy, only to be surprised that the one I liked was actually the vent. But I think when you have the same signal path it's a more fair comparison. However, to compare a sim to a real leslie is apples and oranges. I know from recording leslies for a long time that a mic can be moved a few inches and totally change the sound of the leslie, let alone getting into mic selections themselves. SO you're really not comparing a sim to a leslie here, you're comparing a sim to one guy's method of recording a leslie.

It would be a real giggle if both tracks on the GSI video were of the Burn :)
It can be tweaked to sound quite different from preset to preset.

Are you really certain you know which is which?

Thomas.
